Pioneer has spent the past 40 years assisting people with disabilities in reaching their full potential. We haveprovided prompt, reliable, accurate production services to industry.

Pioneer Vocational/Industrial Services was established in 1967 and began operations in the spring of 1969. It operated under the name Pioneer Opportunity Workshop, but the name was changed in 1983 to more accurately reflect its mission.

In early 2007, Pioneer changed locations to a new facility on Corporate Drive, adjacent to Danville's Industrial Park.

Our new location provides a larger production area and easy accessibility to the 150-Bypass.Pioneer is proud to serve the people of central Kentucky and businesses worldwide. We look forward to the next 40 years.

The AbilityOne Program is the largest source of employment for people who are blind or have other significant disabilities in the United States.  This program has yielded employment for over 56,000 Americans with disabilities.  The Goverment purchases quality products produced by non-profit agencies employing such individuals thoughout the country.  Pioneer is one such agency.  The AbilityOne Program has allowed these individuals to acquire job skills and training, receive wages and benefits, and gain greater independence and quality of life.  They have the opportunity to enjoy participation in their communities and can leverage their AbilityOne skills into other public and private sector jobs.
